Lawrence M. Kristler, 77, of Linton, passed away Aug. 7, 2005 at his residence.
Born Jan. 12, 1928 in Linton, he was the song of Everett Lawrence and Dora Agnes (Wheeler) Kristler.
He was an U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He worked for NSWC Crane as an ordnance operator, retiring in September 1979. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Sullivan.
Survivors include: his wife Delores (Vandeventer) Kristler; two sons Johnnie Kristler of Sullivan and Dennis Kristler of Linton; two daughters Vonda K. Smith of Linton and Mary Jayne McKinney of West Terre Haute; one brother Robert Kristler of Washington, Ill; 10 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son Lawrence Eugene Kristler on Feb. 15, 2002; one brother Donnie Kristler; two half-brothers Max and Grover Tannehill; and one daughter-in-law Penny Kristler.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home Linton Chapel with David Cox officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery with graveside military rites conducted by the American Legion Post 22.
Friends may call Tuesday from 5-9 p.m. and from noon until the time of service Wednesday.
