Dewey H. Martindale, 73, of Ocklawaha, Fla., passed away Aug. 4, 2005 at his residence.
He was born April 14, 1932 in Stanford, Ind., the son of R. Austin and Gladys R. (Lassiter) Martindale.
He worked in the publishing industry, having worked for several newspapers, including the Bloomington Herald Telephone and was a district manager for the Indianapolis Star until his retirement.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Dianna and Kenny Poling of Unionville, Ind.; daughter Pam Slater of Morgantown; step-daughter and son-in-law Sherri and Jeff Lamb of Lake Lady, Fla.; a sister and brother-in-law Doris and Bill Landis of Switz City; three grandsons, Kenny Poling Jr., Tim Poling and Marty Fleener; three granddaughters, Jodie Boyd, Heather Poling and Summer Bray; and 10 great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Etta Eller in 2002, an infant sister, Ruby Martindale and a son-in-law, Mike Slater in 2003.
Service will be Tuesdsay at 10:30 a.m. at Allen Funeral Home in Bloomington with Pastor Henry Mann officiating. Burial will follow at Carmichael Cemetery in Stanford.
Visitation will be today from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
