Emma Jean Johnson, 82, of Bloomfield, passed away at 5:45 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2005 at Glenburn Home.
Born Sept. 16, 1922 in Taylor Township, she was the daughter of Herbert Cecil and Margaret (Baird) Hostettler. On Feb. 1, 1942, she married Donald M. Johnson. He passed away Nov. 3, 2002. They had been married 60 years.
She was a secretary to the superintendent at Bloomfield High School and assistant to Greene County Auditor Milt Bogard. She graduated from Scotland High School in 1940. She was a member of the Bloomfield United Methodist Church, a life member of Delta Theta Tau Sorority, a Sunday School kindergarten class teacher for many years, and a United Methodist Church Choir member.
Survivors include: two sons, Richard D. Johnson and his wife Joyce of Bloomfield, and David K. Johnson and his wife Sue of Bloomfield; two brothers, Rev. Billy Ed Hostettler of Bloomfield and Michael Sayre of Charlotte, Mich.; five grandchildren, Kevin Fesler of Virginia, Stacy Deaton of Bloomfield, Renee McIntosh of Bloomfield, Ryan Johnson of Indianapolis, and Chris Johnson of Indianapolis; and seven great-grandchildren, Samantha Deaton, Cole Deaton, Hunter Deaton, Hannah Fesler, Marisa McIntosh, Wyatt McIntosh, and Lance McIntosh, all of Bloomfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Donald.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Friday at Bloomfield United Methodist Church with the Rev. Lynn Snyder and the Rev. Billy Ed Hostettler officiating. Burial will be in Scotland Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home Bloomfield, and from noon until the hour of service Friday at the church.
