SULLIVAN ---- The Rev. Emery L. Borders, 85, of Sullivan, passed away at 10:08 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 29, 2005 at Lyons Health & Living Center.
Born Dec. 31, 1919 in Greene County, he was the son of Sherman and Cleo Alice (Cox) Borders. He had been married to Iva M. Keller Borders, who preceded him in death.
He was a member of the Sullivan Full Gospel Assembly Church and the CCC's.
Survivors include: a daughter Sheila Majors of Mishawaka; two brothers, Sherman Leon Borders of Crumstown and Wilbur John Borders of South Bend; one sister Cleobelle Carpenter of Jasonville; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and seven step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Iva Borders, a son Emery Borders, a brother Darrell Borders, two sisters, Margaret Gerlach and Mildred Nash, and two grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. on Thursday at the Banks and Brust Funeral Home in Sullivan with the Rev. Sheila Majors officiating. Burial will be in the Peavey Cemetery in Jasonville.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday at Sullivan Full Gospel Assembly Church and at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of service Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to the family of Rev. Emery Borders.
