BLOOMINGTON ----James Gregory "Greg" Long, 46, of Bloomington, passed away at his home Saturday, July 16, 2005.
Born April 10, 1959, he was the son of James Eugene and Nellie Marie (Bruce) Long.
He worked at the Post Office as a mailhandler for the past 18 years. He worked at Bloomington Hospital for 12 years prior to that working in the supply warehouse. He was a member of the Mailhandlers Union. He was a member of "Big Brothers" of America and loved to work out and play games at the HPER. He was an avid sports fan. He loved everything from table tennis to football and basketball. He enjoyed playing in 3 on 3 basketball tournaments. He and his wife, Annalee once traveled to Chicago for a "Gus Macker" tournament even though it was their first anniversary. He was also into bike riding and exercising. He also enjoyed reading.
Survivors include: his wife of 15 years Annalee Smith-Long of Bloomington; his mother Nellie Marie Long of Bloomington; three brothers, Brian and Steve Long of Bloomington, and Gary Long of Cincinnati; three nieces; and three nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father James Long, his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Allen Funeral Home, 3000 East Third St. Bloomington, with the Rev. James Moore officiating.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
