Robert Monroe Tally, 89, of Bloomfield, passed away at 4:25 p.m. Thursday, July 21, 2005 at Bloomington Hospital.
Born Sept. 6, 1915 in Calvertville, he was the son of Robert Howe Tally and Alberta Edith Stewart. He was married to Edna Florence (McDaniel) Tally, who passed away in 1993.
He was a self-employed farmer and a member of the Union Valley Church of God.
Survivors include: a son Kenneth E. Tally of DeFunik Springs, Fla.; four daughters, Beulah Porter of Trafalgar, Carolyn Fae Silver of Terre Haute, Sharon K. Daugherty of Mitchell, and Delores H. Minks of Bloomfield; Jackie McMillen from California, who Mr. Tally raised as his own; 20 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Edna Florence Tally, a son Charles Tally in 2002, two brothers, three sisters, one grandchild, and two great-great grandchildren.
Funeral service was at 10 a.m. today at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home, Bloomfield with the Rev. Eugene Helms officiating. Burial will be in Worthington Cemetery.
Visiting hours were Sunday and one hour prior to the service today at the funeral home.
