Kathryn Jane Ringer, 88, of Terre Haute, passed away at 4:23 a.m. on Sunday, July 24, 2005.
Born Sept. 27, 1916 in Dugger, she was the daughter of Dorsie and Venita Roy Phillippe.
She was a teacher, homemaker, and loved and worked with many crafts. She was a member of the Eastern Star in Dugger, where she rose to the position of Worthy Matron. She was a member of the Northwest Church of Christ.
Survivors include: two sons, James H. Ringer Jr. MD and his wife Jenny of Decatur, Ill., and Stuart G. Ringer and his wife Phyllis of Houston, Texas; a daughter Christine Benham and her husband Joe of New Whiteland; seven grandchildren, Daniel Ringer and his wife Laura of Morago, Calif., Bernard Ringer and his wife Gail of Morago, Calif., Steven Ringer and his wife Stacy of Dallas, Texas, Tiffany Ringer Harrison and her husband Brandon of Katy, Texas, Andy Waggoner and his wife Sarah of Indianapolis, Terry Waggoner and his wife Amie of Indianapolis, and Sabrina Ringer of Decatur, Ill.; five great-grandchildren, Beth and Meghan Ringer of Morago, Calif., Jimmy Ringer of Morago Calif., Kate Ringer of Dallas, Texas, and Riley Harrison of Katy, Texas; her sister-in-law Peggy Phillippe of Indianapolis; and a host of cherished relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years Dr. James H. Ringer, Ph.D., who passed away at the age of 88, and also a brother James Phillippe.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the Northwest Church of Christ in Terre Haute with David Grubb officiating. Burial will be in Dugger Cemetery.
Friends may call from noon-2 p.m. on Wednesday at the church.
The church is located on the west side of U.S. 41 at Florida Ave. between Maple and Fort Harrison, north of 41-63 intersection.
Newkirk's Funeral Home in Dugger is in charge of arrangements.
