Mary E. Brenton, 75, of Indianapolis, passed away at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2005 at her residence.
Born July 5, 1929 in South Bend, she was the daughter of Charles and Ethel (Eaves) Boone.
She was a telephone operator for Indiana and Illinois Bell in South Bend and Chicago. She was a member of the Valley Mills Christian Church, Queen Esther Chapter 3 Easter Star of Indianapolis, and a life member of Delta Sigma Kappa Sorority.
Survivors include: one son Howard Wayne Brenton and his wife Linda (Rusie) of Orleans; two daughters, Debra Kay King, and Peggy and her husband Ronald Wiesjahn, all of Indianapolis; a brother Harold Boone and his wife Virginia Brenton of Dugger; four sisters, Betty Skaggs of Fortville, Patricia Boone of Dugger, Brenda Jones of Beech Grove, and Diane Cunningham of Dugger; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Berniece Gilligan Boone of Venice, Fla., and Ruby and her husband Kenny Moyes of Newburgh; three brothers-in-law, Harold Ray Brenton and his wife Judy of Indianapolis, Richard Brenton and his wife Patricia of Sullivan, and Rex Brenton and his wife Judy of Dugger; and a special friend Wayne Jackson of Sullivan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lloyd DeWayne Brenton, who passed away in 1978, three brothers, Baby Charles, Robert and James Boone, and one sister Joan Axe.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at Newkirk's Funeral Home in Dugger with the Rev. John Booker officiating. Burial will be in Dugger Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, and before the service Saturday at the funeral home.
