Jewell W. Soliday, 88, of Lyons, passed away at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2005 at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis.
Born Feb. 23, 1917 in Lyons, he was the son of George and Ida Mae (Secrest) Soliday. He was married to Opal June (Hasler) Soliday.
He was a self-employed farmer and a member of the Lyons United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: his wife Opal June Soliday of Lyons; a son Ted Soliday and his wife Susie of Lyons; two daughters, Lou Ann and her husband Gary Andis of Hillsdale, and June and her husband David V. W. Owen of Bloomington; a daughter-in-law Dorothy Soliday of Worthington; four grandsons, Dan Soliday of Merrillville, Tim Soliday of Spencer, Barry Soliday of Farmer City, Ill., and Scott Andis of Martinsville; seven granddaughters, Tracy Soliday of Salem, Kelly McKee of Staunton, Ill., Stacy Soliday of Champaign, Ill., Nancy Fay of New Market, Md., Christy Priebe of Waynesville, Sharon Davidson of Sandborn, and Jewellyn Slaven of Hillsdale; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son Richard Lee Soliday, who passed away in 1994.
Funeral service will be at Lyons United Methodist Church on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Don Reed and the Rev. David V.W. Owen officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Chapel Cemetery, Bloomfield.
Friends may call at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home, Lyons, from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, and at the church one hour prior to the service Saturday.
