B. David Workman, 86, of Columbus and formerly of Bloomfield, passed away at 12:10 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1, 2005 at Columbus Regional Hospital, Columbus.
Born Oct. 10, 1918 in Linton, he was the son of Bernard Franklin and Edith (Cain) Workman. He had been married to Anna May Workman, who passed away Jan. 11, 2005.
He was a Navy CB during World War II. He was a Standard Oil Distributor in Bloomfield. He worked on the Bloomfield Fire Department for 60 years and was the former fire chief. He was a member of the Bloomfield First Baptist Church, and a 50-year member and Past Master of the Bloomfield Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include: a daughter Carol and her husband Wayne Blankenship of Seymour; a son Tom Workman and his wife Judith of Cape Coral, Fla.; three grandchildren, Mathew Workman and his wife Julie of Fort Myers, Fla., Elizabeth and her husband Jorge DeFeria of Fort Myers, Fla., and Krista and her husband Ian Lane of Boston, Mass.; and one great-granddaughter Amelia Grace Workman of Fort Myers, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Anna May Workman.
Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home, Bloomfield, with the Rev. Brent Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery, Bloomfield.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today, and from 1 p.m. until the hour of service Saturday at the funeral home.
