Robert "Donnie" Brinson, 60, of Bloomfield, passed away at 11:04 a.m. Thursday, June 2, 2005 at Bloomington Hospital.
Born Aug. 27, 1944 in Linton, he was the son of Robert L. and Betty L. (Sanders) Brinson. He was married to Nancy J. (Stone) Brinson.
He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War era. He retired from NWSC Crane as a packaging specialist and later worked for EG and G Technical Services. He attended Bloomfield First Baptist Church, and was a member of American Legion Post 196, Bloomfield, and Bloomfield Masonic Lodge 84. He was a first response scuba diving instructor for PADI.
Survivors include: his wife Nancy J. Brinson of Bloomfield; a daughter Shawn L. and her husband Brad Hughes of Bloomfield; his mother Betty L. Brinson of Linton; a brother Lonnie Brinson of Linton; and two grandsons, Brennan S. Hughes and Nolan A. Hughes, both of Bloomfield.
He was preceded in death by his father and a daughter Jacinda Brinson in 1991.
Funeral service will be conducted at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home, Bloomfield, at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday with the Rev. Brent Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Scotland Cemetery. American Legion Post 196 will perform military honors.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today, and one hour prior to service Tuesday at the funeral home. Bloomfield Masonic Lodge services will be today at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Family Life Center in Bloomfield or the Lance Armstrong Foundation in care of Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home.
