Darlene J. Spencer, 69, of Linton, passed away at 6:45 a.m. on Friday, June 3, 2005 at Walnut Creek Rehabilitation Center in Linton.
Born May 8, 1936 in Sullivan County, she was the daughter of Marvin and Mary (Goodman) Enochs.
She had worked for Bell and General Telephone Co., also Fair Lane Bowling Center in Lakeland, Fla. She was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Petersburg.
Survivors include: one son David F. Spencer of New Hampshire; two daughters, Denise Irby of Linton, and Dana L. Wright of Petersburg; three brothers, Virgil Everett Enochs of Gilbertsville, Ky., Carl Warren Enochs of Dugger, and Mervin Wayne Enochs of Carmel; four sisters, Donna Enochs, Dorothy Mayfield, and Diane Chambers, all of Linton, and Deborah Newell of Oaktown; and one granddaughter Dawn Irby.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Forest Spencer, who passed away in 1998, and one brother James Thomas Enochs.
Funeral service was at 10:30 a.m. today at Newkirk's Funeral Home in Dugger with Pastor Larry Barr officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
Visitation was Sunday at the funeral home.
