Jean Chandler, 66, of Linton, passed away at 9:20 a.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2005, at Glenburn Home, Linton.
Born April 7, 1939 in Greene County, she was the daughter of David and Ada B. (Souders) Allen. On June 24, 1983 she married Walter C. Chandler, who preceded her in death February 11, 1997.
She worked as a Certified Nurses Aide at Shakamak Good Samaritan Nursing Center in Jasonville.
Survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Leonard Giles and his wife Paula of Linton, and Russell Giles and JoAnne Matavuli-Giles of Bloomington; two sisters, Ruth Gamer of Bloomington, and Nancy Reed of Linton; one brother John Allen of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; two grandchildren, John Giles and Jessica Giles; three step-grandchildren, Rene Riley, Charmaine Matavuli-Eads, and Marco Matavuli; three great-grandchildren; and five step-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Walter, three sisters, and two brothers.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Monday at the McClanahan-Lee Funeral Home in Jasonville, with John Ferguson officiating. Burial will be at Lebanon Cemetery in Midland.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Monday at the funeral home.
