Willard Goad, 85, of Bloomfield, passed away at 1:10 p.m. Thursday, June 16, 2005, at his residence.
Born February 6, 1920 in Newberry, he was the son of Oliver and Cora Daney (Brookshire) Goad.
He was an Army veteran of WWII, and a retired overhead crane operator at Crane NWSC. He was a member of the Greene County Disabled American Vets Chapter 99, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7117, and American Legion Post #196 Bloomfield. He was a life-time member of all three.
Survivors include: his wife of 60 years Helen (Walls) Goad of Bloomfield; a son Willard E. (Gene) Goad and his wife Wanda of Bloomfield; a daughter Jane Ann and her husband Gale R. (Buck) Baker of Bloomfield; three grandsons, Jeremy W. Goad and his wife Sara of Bloomington, Stacy Gale Baker and his wife Laurie of Columbus, and Denny Bissey and Dona Stewart of Bloomfield; three granddaughters, Pamela J. and her husband Bill Arthur of Bloomfield, Cora Beth and her husband Don Horn of Bloomfield, and Terry and her husband Steve Norris of Bloomfield; and his great-grandchildren, Emily, Aaron, and Elyse Goad, Cody Bissey and Trevor Vaught, Amanda, Brook and Caleb Arthur, Anissa and Nate Horn, and Zachariah, Isaac, Jenna and Lacey Baker.
He was preceded in death by his parents, eight sisters, seven brothers, and one great-granddaughter Elizabeth Anne Goad.
Funeral service will be held at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield at 2 p.m. on Sunday with the Rev. Billy Ed Hostettler officiating. The American Legion Post 196 of Bloomfield will perform Honor Guard at the funeral home Sunday. Burial will be in Scotland Cemetery, Scotland.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Saturday and one hour prior to service Sunday at the funeral home.
