Ines I. Shepherd, 78, of Evansville, passed away Friday, April 29, 2005 at the Protestant Home.
She was a member of the Bethel Temple, where she was active in the music ministry. She was an accomplished pianist and organist, and was proud to be the oldest member of her church choir. In her earlier years, she was a seamstress and made costumes for the church.
Survivors include: daughter and son-in-law, Glenda and Rick Laskey of Newburgh; son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Vickie Shepherd of Evansville; granddaughter, Shannon Shepherd of Evansville; step-grandchildren, Megan Laskey, Steve Laskey, Tim Laskey, and Gregg Laskey; sisters, Helen Hays and Joan Webb of Linton; and brother, James Jerrells of Linton.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Howard Shepherd Jr., in 2000; her granddaughter, Julia Sloan, in 1982; her twin sister, Agnes, in 1932; and her parents, Lillie (Reed) and Ray Jerrells.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. today at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel, Linton, with the Rev. David Schwambach officiating. Burial will be at Dugger Cemetery.
Viewing was Sunday, May 1, at Browning Funeral Home, and from noon until service time today at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel.
