Eugene Browning, 79, of Pierceton, passed away at 7:09 p.m. Saturday, May 14, 2005 at the VA Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Born Oct. 31, 1925 in New Castle, Ky., he was the son of Omer Lee and Mary Ethel (Roberts) Browning.
He was a carpenter with Union Local 60. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, DAV, and Masonic Lodge 669. He was a member of the ARAB Patrol-Mizpah Shrine.
Survivors include: three daughters, Kathy and her husband S. Dale Hancock of Baton Rouge, La., Patricia and her husband Jerry Cook of Indianapolis, and Vonda and her husband Todd Anderson of Avon; two sons William "Timmy" Browning and Barry Browning, both of Indianapolis; 14 grandchildren, Lenny John Browning, Tanya Godsey, Minona "Sissy" Denton, April Browning, Holly Johnson, Jerry Lee Cook, Christy Hancock, Donnelle Browning, Amber Cook, Andrew Browning, Ashlen Browning, Natalie Anderson, Derek Anderson, Faye Ellen Browning; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four sons and one granddaughter.
Funeral service will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Pierceton. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery at a later date.
Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
