Ona Lenore Parsley Rollins, 86, of Bloomfield, passed away at 5:13 p.m. Sunday, May 15, 2005 at Select Specialty Hospital of Bloomington.
Born Oct. 26, 1918 in Martin County, she was the daughter of James and Mary (Jackson) Parsley. She had been married to William Ray Rollins, who passed away May 9, 1977.
She worked at NWSC Crane and did custodial work for Eastern schools. She was a member of Owensburg Baptist Church.
Survivors include: four sons, Vernon Rollins of Bloomington, Ronald Rollins of Solsberry, James Rollins of Owensburg, and Bill Rollins of Owensburg; three daughters, Sue Burnette of Hobbieville, Brenda Hilderbrand of Bloomington, and Shelby Rollins of Hobbieville; five brothers, Bob Parsley of Owensburg, Orville Parsley of Loogootee, Herman Parsley of Bedford, John Parsley of Bloomfield, and James Parsley of Owensburg; 20 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William Ray, two sons, Donald and Ralph Rollins, three brothers, Charles, Raymond, and Elmer, three sisters, Naomi, Betty, and Ermal, two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home, Bloomfield, with the Rev. Merla Craig, the Rev. James Olinger, and the Rev. Kenneth Adams officiating. Burial will be in Kentucky Ridge Cemetery, in rural Bloomfield.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, and from noon until the hour of service Thursday.
