William K. 'Bill' Shake, 86, of Sullivan, passed away at 9 p.m. Sunday, May 22, 2005 at Miller's Merry Manor in Sullivan.
Born July 25, 1918 in Sullivan, he was the son of James D. and Eula (McCammon) Shake. He was married to Freeda Vae (Johnson) Shake.
He retired from Pfizer in 1981. He attended the Sullivan United Methodist Church, was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge, a Life Member of the American Legion, VFW, and the Disabled American Veterans. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army under the 4th Armored Division.
Survivors include: his wife Freeda Vae Shake of Sullivan; a brother Edward Shake of Sullivan; and three sisters, Mary Alsman and Jean Walters, both of Sullivan, and Shirley Whiteside of Evansville.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at Alexander-Kean Funeral Home, Sullivan, with the Rev. Timothy Fleace officiating, and at 3 p.m. at the Chapel of Memories in Roselawn Cemetery in Terre Haute with Gregory Larmier officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery, Terre Haute.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday at Alexander-Kean Funeral Home and from 2:45 p.m. until the time of service at Roselawn's Chapel of Memories on Thursday.
A Masonic service will be at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Full military services will be conducted by the Sullivan, Shelburn, and Hymera American Legions and the Terre Haute VFW 972.
