Jackie L. Dicus, 57, of Midland, passed away at 2 a.m. on Tuesday, May 24, 2005 at his residence in Midland.
Born Aug. 8, 1947, in Coal City, he was the son of Jesse America (Rawley) Dicus.
He formerly worked in the Dietary Department at Union Hospital in Terre Haute and at Korexal Janitorial Supply in Terre Haute. He was a member of Faithway Baptist Church in Worthington and had served as a deacon at the Bethel Baptist Church in Vicksburg. He was an avid Shakamak Little League baseball fan and Indiana University basketball fan.
Survivors include: a daughter Jaci Sue and her husband Paul Pierce of Jasonville; one grandson Donald G. Pierce of Jasonville; four sisters, Rosalie Buckallew of Indianapolis, Helen Fougerousse of Jasonville, and Bessie Bays and Maxine Dicus, both of Terre Haute; two brothers, Richard Dicus of Indianapolis and "Butch" Vernon Dicus of Terre Haute; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shelia Kaye (Canada) Dicus, who passed away Feb. 5, 1992, two sisters, Edna Basham and Pearl Dicus, one brother, Joe Dicus, and his mother.
Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home Linton Chapel with Pastor Terry Dowell officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. on Thursday, and after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
