Donald W. Richardson, 91, of Bloomfield, passed away at 6:45 a.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2005 at Greene County General Hospital, Linton.
Born Dec. 31, 1913 in Newberry, he was the son of Ora and Edna (McCarter) Richardson. He had been married to Dora Dean Richardson, who passed away Jan. 18, 2004.
He had been a carpenter at Crane NWSC and was a member of the Antioch Christian Church, Bloomfield, and the American Legion Post 196, Bloomfield.
Survivors include a daughter Brenda Ockerman of Marshall, Ill., six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Dora Dean Richardson, a son Tommy Joe Richardson, who passed away in 1994, and a brother Verlin Richardson.
Funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home, Bloomfield, with the Rev. Arlen Pope, the Rev. Billy Ed Hostettler and Certified Lay Speaker George Ockerman officiating. Burial will be in Scotland Cemetery, Scotland, with military graveside services by the American Legion Post 196 of Bloomfield.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, and 9 a.m. on Friday until the hour of service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Antioch Christian Church Building Fund in care of Jenkins Funeral Home, 421 South Seminary Street, Bloomfield.
