Carlis J. Vincent Sr., 69, of Bloomfield, passed away at 11:03 a.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2005 at Greene County General Hospital in Linton.
Born Oct. 8, 1935 in Edmonson County, Ky., he was the son of Richard and Bessie (Emery) Vincent.
He worked at the Indiana Limestone Quarry in Oolitic and was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include: four children, Angela Harding Bridgewater of Bloomfield, Carlis J. Vincent, Jr. of Bedford, Carmon Duran Vincent of Indianapolis, and Carla Mowen of Orleans; three sisters, Dorothy Garner of Bee Spring, Ky., Altina Poteat of Kentucky, and Lanaita Borlies of Old Hickory, Tenn.; several grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and four brothers, Nay, Otis, Lenard and Johnny (Cotton) Vincent.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. on Monday at Ashcraft Chapel Cemetery, Bloomfield with the Rev. Roscoe Godsey officiating.
There will be no public visitation.
Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
