Robert W. Chafey, 85, of Linton, passed away at 3:05 a.m. Sunday, April 17, 2005, at his residence.
Born September 27, 1919 in Linton, he was the son of William and Charlotte May Kelly Chafey. July 6, 1942, he married June Chafey.
He retired from Amoco Oil Company as a distributor. He was a WWII Army veteran He was a member of Lewis Masonic Lodge F&AM, Shriners and Jasonville American Legion Post 172.
Survivors include: his wife June Chafey of Linton; a daughter and son-in-law Michey and Ron McBride of Indianapolis; a son and daughter-in-law Bob A. and Cappi Chafey of Lewis; and two grandchildren, Rob Chafey of Lewis and Michael McBride of Indianapolis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and two brothers.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday at the McClanahan-Lee Funeral Home, Jasonville. Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery at Midland.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home. A Masonic Memorial Service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
