Bernard King, 84, of Sullivan, passed away at 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born Nov. 26, 1920 in Dugger, he was the son of Harrison and Elsie (George) King. He had been married to Elinor (Rodgers) King, who passed away in 1982.
He was an Army veteran of World War II and had retired from Indiana Water Co.
Survivors include: one daughter Jean Russell of Sullivan; one sister Nina Watkins of Sullivan; two grandchildren, Lora Chubb and David Padgett; and six great-grandchildren, Dougie, Joey, Davey, Corey, Micacla, and Jessica.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Elinor King, and two brothers, Raymond and Bob King.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Newkirk's Funeral Home in Dugger with the Rev. Russell Black officiating. Burial will be in the Dugger Cemetery. Graveside rites will be conducted by the Sullivan, Hymera, and Shelburn American Legion and the Sullivan VFW.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
