Jerry W. Sevier, 64, of Linton, passed away Monday, March 21, 2005, at the Heart Center of Indiana in Indianapolis.
Born November 11, 1940 in Sullivan, he was the son of Paul Thomas and Mary Lena (Powers) Sevier. On November 27, 1963, he married Wilma (Cullison) Sevier. They have been married for 42 years.
He was a coal miner for 32 years with Peabody Coal Company. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1958-1961 and was a member of Providence Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his wife Wilma Sevier of Linton; four sons, Erin W. Sevier and his wife Mandy of Linton, Troy Sevier and his wife Kelli of Linton, Chad Sevier and his girlfriend Tricia Frye of Martinsville, and Kyle Sevier and his wife Kasia of Temecula, Calif.; seven grandchildren, Josh, Ashleigh, Jacob, Haley, Savannah, Garrett, and Arika; and one brother Billy Sevier of New Palestine.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Paul Thomas Sevier Jr. and Norman James Sevier.
Funeral services will be conducted at 6 p.m. Wednesday at McClanahan-Lee Funeral Home, Jasonville, with Pastor Harold Thomas officiating.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Providence Baptist Church.
