Harold (Denny) Hembree, 51, of Shoals, passed away at 9 a.m. Monday, March 28, 2005 at Daviess Community Hospital in Washington.
Born December 8, 1953 in Daviess County, he was the son of Woodrow and Joyce (Wininger) Hembree. On June 30, 1973, he married Janet Kidwell in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Shoals.
He worked at Jones Oil Company in Shoals for 30 years and the Shoals Volunteer Fire Department for approximately 28 years. He was a graduate of Loogootee High School class of 1973. He was of the Christian faith and a member of Shoals Fraternal Order of Eagles #2442. He was an avid NASCAR fan and loved Bristol Motor Speedway.
Survivors include: his wife Janet Hembree of Shoals; one daughter Julie A. Neukam of Loogootee; three brothers, Dwight Hembree of Washington, Keith Hembree of Linton, and Richard Hembree of St. Anthony; four sisters, Janice Peoples of Shoals, Elsie Mae Horsting, Kay Matthews, and Fay Holland, all of Loogootee; two grandchildren, Kody and Emma Neukam; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one sister and infant twin daughters.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Queen-Lee Funeral Home in Shoals with Rev. Debbie Davis officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Shoals.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. Thursday until the time of services at the funeral home.
