Jack O'Brien, 77, of Linton, passed away at 5 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 31, 2005.
Born Oct. 6, 1927, he was the son of Austin and Audrey (Comer) O'Brien. His first wife Dorothy (Charles) O'Brien passed away in 1993. They were married from 1955 to her passing. On May 9, 1997, he married Joyce O'Brien.
He served in the military for 20 years (1946-68) with the U.S. Navy Seabees, U.S. Navy and the Army. He was a veteran of World War II, Korea and Vietnam Wars. He was a member of the American Legion Post 22 and VFW Post 7117. He was a member of the First Christian Church and First Church of God in Linton.
Survivors include: his wife Joyce O'Brien; step-children, Jennifer Myers and Mr. and Mrs. Aaron (Beverly) Myers; and grandchildren, Bryce Myers, Briannah Myers and Nathan Steele.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife Dorothy.
Memorial service will be at the First Church of God, Linton, on Saturday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. John Cathem officiating.
Newkirk's Funeral Home in Dugger is in charge of arrangements.
