HOMEWOOD, Ill. ---- Jewel Q. Graves (Chaney), 96, of Homewood, Ill., passed away Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2005 at her residence.
Born Oct. 16, 1908 in Bloomfield, she was the daughter of Milford and Rebecca Chaney. She was the wife of the late Dee F. Graves.
She was employed by Ingalls and South Suburban Hospitals. She was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Homewood and Neighbor Chapter 1025 OES.
Survivors include: a son Dee F. Graves Jr. of Streamwood, Ill.; a daughter Iris and her husband William Bestow of Homewood, Ill.; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 45 great-great grandchildren; and two great-great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Dee F. Graves; three children, Rebecca Lou Tomes, Donald Graves and Edsel Graves; and a brother Marlin L. Chaney.
Funeral service will be at 8 p.m. on Friday at Tews Funeral Home, 18230 S. Dixie Hwy., Homewood, Ill. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Walnut Grove Cemetery, Bloomfield.
Friends may call from 2 p.m. until the time of service at 8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home There will be an Eastern Star service at 7:30 p.m.
