Fred Jewell Alsman, 72, of Dugger, passed away at 11:44 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 6, 2005 at Greene County General Hospital.
Born April 13, 1932 in Dugger, he was the son of William L. and Mattie (Smith) Alsman.
He retired from G.E. and was a Navy veteran and a farmer. He was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Linton and the Dugger American Legion.
Survivors include: his wife Rosemary Robert Alsman of Dugger; four sons, Floyd Alsman and his wife Mary of Vincennes, Dennis Alsman and his wife Cheryl of Lyons, Tony Alsman and Mike Alsman, both of Dugger; one daughter Terry Bishop and her husband Paul of Dugger; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and four step great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph and William Horace Alsman and one sister Maxine Marginet.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the Fellowship Baptist Church in Linton with the Rev. Warren Allen and the Rev. Gene Hartman officiating. Burial will be in the Hickory Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today, and from 9 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the church.
