Ariel Hinds, 93, of Worthington, passed away at 1 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 7, 2005 at the residence of his daughter, Peggy Davis of Worthington.
Born March 15, 1911 in Owen County, he was the son of Horace Pleasant and Anna (Goforth) Hinds. He was married to Audrey (Neal) Hinds, who passed away Sept. 3, 1997.
He was a realtor, operating Ariel Hinds Real Estate in Worthington for several years. He also farmed. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Church of Christ, south of Linton. He was a former member of the Greene County Hospital Board, Owen County Council, Owen County Farm Bureau, where he was president for several years, and Owen County Fair Board.
Survivors include: three daughters, Peggy Davis of Worthington, Anna York of Chicago, Ill., and Ruth Stiehl of Eagle Point, Ore.; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Audrey Hinds, three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral service will be at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington at 1 p.m. on Saturday. Burial will be in Worthington Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to Obed Dashan Nigerian Ministry, checks made payable to Pleasant Grove Church of Christ. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
