Chester Wayne Cox, 84, of Dugger, passed away at 4 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 13, 2005 at his residence.
He was born Jan. 15, 1921 in Sullivan County.
He had retired from Youngstown Sheet and Tubing Co. in Whiting. He was a World War II veteran and a member of the Dugger American Legion.
Survivors include: a son Craig Allen Cox of Monee, Ill.; a daughter Beverly Dawn Meyers of Jackson, Mich.; a sister Margaret Deckard of Scottsdale, Ariz.; three grandchildren, Alexis Dawn Cox, William Donald Meyers IV, and Jonathan Allan Meyers; a great-grandchild Kayden William Anderson; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother Glennie Cox Robertson and his wife Erma Dee Chapman Cox in 1994.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at Newkirk's Funeral Home in Dugger with the Rev. Paul Meyers officiating. Burial will be in the Center Ridge Cemetery with graveside rites by the Dugger American Legion.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today, and before the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dugger American Legion in his honor.
