Mary Barton, 79, of Linton, passed away at 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 25, 2005 at Bloomington Hospital.
Born Feb. 21, 1926 in Vicksburg, she was the daughter of Isaac Newton and Alice (Frye) Lewis. She had been married to Richard Barton, who passed away March 17, 1999.
She worked at Crane during World War II, and later at Glenburn Nursing Home in Linton. She was a member of the Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints of Linton.
Survivors include: two sons and a daughter-in-law, Richard and Melissa Barton and Denny Barton, all of Linton; a brother Bennie Joe Lewis of Linton; a sister Charmon Weaver of Linton; and five grandchildren, Travis, Kyle, Brian, Richie, and Ren Barton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard Barton, five brothers, Carl, Kenneth, Archie, Avery and Robert Lewis, Sr., and three sisters, Violet May, Una Dodd, and Dellamae Arthur.
Graveside service was at Walnut Grove Cemetery, east of Bloomfield, at 11 a.m. today with Warren Shake officiating. There was no public visitation.
Welch & Cornett Funeral Home Linton Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
