Eleanor Alberta (Arford) Waggoner, 84, of Odon, passed away at 11:23 a.m. Friday, Feb. 25, 2005 at Select Specialty Hospital in Bloomington after a month-long illness.
Born April 3, 1920 in Daviess County, she was the daughter of Ernest Castle and Maye (Baile) Arford. On April 14, 1943 she married Paul Waggoner, who passed away Feb. 12, 1995.
She was a homemaker and had also been employed at Delco Remy in Anderson during World War II. She was a member of Union Chapel (Bunkum) Community Church in Odon and also attended the NSWC Crane Base Chapel and the Friendship United Methodist Church in Shoals.
She devoted her life to God, her family, her home, and helping her husband on their farm.
Survivors include: a son Steven Richard and his wife Susan Waggoner of Loogootee; a daughter Karen Sue Neukam of Odon; four grandchildren, twins, Michael Christopher and Kenneth David Waggoner, both of Loogootee, Gregory E. Neukam of Odon and Beverly A. and her husband Aaron Myers of Plainville; two great-grandchildren, Nathan Shane Steele and Briannah Erin Myers; two brothers, Raymond and his wife Mae Arford of Odon, and Harold and his wife Grace Arford of Odon; a brother-in-law Vernon Waggoner; a sister-in-law Hazel Waggoner; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 51 years Paul Waggoner, a brother Castle and his wife Deloris Arford, and her brothers-in-law, Roy Waggoner and Elbert Waggoner.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Jenkins Funeral Home, Bloomfield, with the Rev. Billy Ed Hostettler officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery, Odon.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, and 10 a.m. Wednesday until the hour of service.
