Martha M. Myers, 89, of Bloomfield, passed away at 3:15 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 3, 2005 at Bloomington Hospital.
Born Dec. 31, 1915 in Greene County, she was the daughter of Frank Edgar and Gertrude (McElroy) Asdell. She had been married to Jasper N. Myers, who passed away Sept. 23, 1971.
She was a school teacher for Eastern School and taught third grade for 20 years before retiring.
Survivors include: four sons, Bill Myers of Arizona, Dougless Myers of Bloomfield, Ronald Myers of North Carolina, and Orval McPherson of Ohio; one daughter Charlene Norris of Bloomfield; two sisters, Ruth Martindale of Florida and Marye Myers of Odon; one brother Dallas Asdell of Cloverdale; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jasper N. Myers, and one sister Joyce Atkinson.
Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. on Friday at Jenkins Funeral Home, Bloomfield, with the Rev. Henry Mann Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Greene County Chapel Cemetery, Solsberry.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, and from 1 p.m. until the hour of service Friday at the funeral home.
