LAFAYETTE ---- Fred R. Bough, 74, of Lafayette, passed away Friday, Jan. 14, 2005 at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.
Born June 4, 1930 in Odon, he was the son of James Calvin and Fonetta Holland Bough. On July 22, 1950, he married Betty L. Strauser in Bloomfield.
He had been a Lafayette resident for over 50 years. He was a graduate from Officer's Candidate School and served in the U.S. Army. He worked as a sales representative for Daubert Chemical for 25 years and later served as CEO of F&S Distributing. He was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church and the American Legion. He was a musician playing many types of instruments, and played with the Country Kernals Band as well as the Burnett's Creek Band. His hobbies included flying private aircraft, golf and fishing.
Survivors include: his wife Betty L. Bough of Lafayette; a daughter Jane Wiley King of Lafayette; and son Steve and his wife Lisa Bough of Rossville; and four grandchildren, Jason Andrew Wiley, Christoper Allen and Ryan Adam Wiley, and Gordon Bough.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 211 Knox Dr., West Lafayette, with Pastor David Henderson officiating. Cremation to follow.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday at Hippensteel Funeral Home, 822 N 9th St., Lafayette.
