FRANKLIN ---- Edgar Lee Ritter, 88, of Plainfield and formerly of Indianapolis and Bloomfield, passed away Thursday, Jan. 13, 2005 at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin.
Born Dec. 14, 1916 in Bloomfield, he was the son of William Drayton and Catherine Alice (Axe) Ritter. In 1937, he married Hazel Mae Marshall in Greenfield. She passed away in 1998.
He was a graduate of Bloomfield High School and was employed by Allison Division of General Motors as an electrician and as a supervisor until his retirement in 1976. He was a 50-year member of the Prospect Masonic Lodge 714 and the Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis.
Survivors include: one daughter Alice K. Ritter of Indianapolis; three sons, Charles W. Ritter of Plainfield, James L. Ritter of Warsaw, and Richard L. Ritter of Indianapolis; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Hazel Mae Marshall.
Funeral service was conducted today at 11 a.m. in Kresge Chapel at the Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin with the Rev. Harold Schneider officiating. A Masonic service will precede the regular service. Burial will be at Arlington Cemetery in Arlington.
Friends called at Kresge Chapel today from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
