Howard Combs, 69, of Bloomfield, passed away at 5:56 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2004 at Select Specialty Hospital.
Born Feb. 26, 1935 in Greene County, he was the son of Glen and Elizabeth (VanMeter) Combs. He was married to Judith (Riley) Combs.
He was retired, having been a retailer at Howard's Service Station and Judy's Mini Mart owner and operator with his wife Judith. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Bloomington.
Survivors include: his wife Judith Combs of Bloomfield; two daughters, Rhonda and her husband Ace Royal of Bloomfield and Theresa and her husband Tony Schantz of Bloomfield; one son Jeff and his wife Cheryl Combs of Solsberry; four step-children, Cheryl and her husband Richard Dunigan of Spencer, Deanna and her husband Robby Jewell of Hobbieville, Dean and his wife Patty Bland of Hobbieville, and Kim and her husband Brian Robertson of Bloomington; nine grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren; one brother David and his wife Marilou Combs of Mitchell; two sisters, Linda and her husband Ron Tincher of Bloomfield, and Kathy and her husband Don Floyd of Bloomfield; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Friday at Jenkins Funeral Home, Bloomfield with the Rev. Bob England and Henry Mann Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Solsberry Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today, and Friday from 1 p.m. until the hour of service.
