Joe W. Brown, 71, of Jasonville, passed away at 10:23 a.m. Monday, Dec. 13, 2004, at Union Hospital, Terre Haute.
Born April 13, 1933 in Jasonville, he was the son of William "Dutch" and Mary (Hamilton) Brown. On July 14, 1951, he married Delores (Burger) Brown. They had been married for 53 years.
He worked at Allis Chalmers for 10 years, was Greene County Deputy Recorder for two years and retired from Citizens Gas & Coke Utility after 28 years of service. He was a 50-year member of the Jasonville Masonic Lodge 530 F&AM.
Survivors include: his wife Delores Brown of Jasonville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Ginger and Jim Spainhower of Worthington, and Debra and George Cullison of Linton; one son and daughter-in-law Bob and Carolyn Brown of Jasonville; one brother and sister-in-law John Robert "Bob" and Jeani Brown of Jasonville; four grandchildren, Jill and her husband Jerry Reynolds of Worthington, Lee Spainhower of Worthington, and Bradley and Bryan Brown, both of Jasonville; two great-granddaughters, Rebecca and Abigayle Reynolds; and one niece Jennifer Brown of Jasonville.
He was preceded in death by his parents William and Mary Brown, and his parents-in-law Charles and Iva Burger.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at McClanahan-Lee Funeral Home, Jasonville with Pastor Sam Bush officiating. Burial will be in Peavey Cemetery at Howesville.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, and 9 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
