GREENWOOD ---- Gleddis N. Cook, 78, of Greenwood and formerly of this area, passed away Friday, Dec. 17, 2004 at his residence.
Born April 22, 1926 in Linton, he was the son of Emery and Clovie (Flake) Cook. He married Phyllis O'Hern on Sept. 18, 1947.
He was a graduate of Bloomfield High School and employed by Bloomfield Brick Co. and Ford Motor Co. He was a member of American Legion Post 252 and the VFW Post 7118. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in World War II from 1942-44 on the U.S.S. Liberty.
Survivors include: his wife Phyllis Cook of Greenwood; a son Brian and his wife Debbie Cook of New Palestine; four brothers, Charles and Jim Cook, both of Bloomfield, Joe Cook of Burlington, and Jack Cook of Worthington; two sisters, Ruth Fields of Bloomfield and Pat Stewart of Franklin; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Wilburn, Max, Marvin, and Herschel Cook, and two sisters, Dorothy Sexton and Mary Seals.
Funeral service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday at Forest Lawn Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Home St. Rd. 135 Chapel, Greenwood. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
