Ruth (Street) Lucas, 92, of Bloomfield, passed away at 1:15 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, 2004 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Sue Ellen and Albert Porter of Bloomfield.
Born Aug. 31, 1912 in Greene County, she was the daughter of Homer and Nettie (Nation) Street. She had been married to George Harvey Lucas, who passed away June 30, 1984.
She had retired from F.W. Woolworth in Chicago, Ill. She was a member of United Congregational Church in Chicago.
Survivors include: a son Jack Lucas and his wife Maryann of Elgin, Ill.; a daughter Sue Ellen and her husband Albert Porter of Bloomfield; five grandchildren and their spouses, Roger and Deb Porter of Vicksburg, Mich., Paul and Val Porter of Barrigada, Guam, Linda and Ben Howard of Phoenix, Ariz., Robert and Tammy Lucas of Park Ridge, Ill., and John and Kathleen Lucas of Nampa, Idaho; 14 great-grandchildren, Mandy and Megan Porter of Michigan, Amber and Kade Scott of Arizona, Jason and Sarah Lucas of Idaho, and Alexandria, Adrianna, Arika, Zachary, Brandon, Savannah, Justin and Sydney Lucas of Illinois; two sisters and their husbands, Lula Mae and Walter Wilson of Bloomfield, and Patsy and Lavon Yoho of Solsberry; two sisters-in-law, Cornelia Street of Bloomington and Reba Street of Bloomfield; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband George Harvey Lucas; two brothers, Charles Street in 1980 and James Street in 1993; one sister and brother-in-law, Katheryn and Wayne English; and five nephews.
Graveside service was at 11 a.m. today at Ridgeport Cemetery with the Rev. Billy Ed Hostettler officiating.
There was no calling hours.
Memorial contributions may be made to Ridgeport Cemetery Association or to the donor's choice.
Jenkins Funeral Home, Bloomfield, was in charge of arrangements.
