Robert E. Hammond, 76, of Jasonville, passed away at 4:37 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 20, 2004 at Greene County General Hospital, Linton.
Born April 24, 1928 in Indiana, he was the son of Charles and Marie (Miller) Hammond. On June 4, 1949, he married H. Maxine (Cox) Hammond.
He retired from Coal Inc. and attended South Linton Church of God.
Survivors include: his wife H. Maxine (Cox) Hammond of Jasonville; one daughter and son-in-law Pamela S. and James Simmons of Linton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Rick E. and Jeannie Hammond of Linton, and Michael P. and Becky Hammond of Jasonville; a sister and brother-in-law Linda and Norman Jett of Fort Myers, Fla.; five grandchildren, Eric E. Hammond, Brad A. Hammond, Byron M. Hammond, Ashley D. Hammond, and Amanda S. Simmons; two great-grandchildren, Reagan E. Hammond and Turner J. Hammond; and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday at McClanahan-Lee Funeral Home, Jasonville with the Rev. Russell Black officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery, Dugger.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, and 9 a.m. until the time of service Thursday.
