Lawrence G. "Larry" Longo, 81, of Worthington, passed away at 4 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 17, 2004 at Greene County General Hospital in Linton.
Born Dec. 22, 1922 in New York City, he was the son of Joseph and Evalina (Baratini) Longo. He had been married to Wilma Jean (Hostetter) Longo, who passed away Jan. 10, 2000.
He retired from Crane in 1988 with 20 years of service. He was a Navy veteran who served during World War II and he was a member of the VFW in Worthington.
Survivors include: one son Joe Longo and his wife Tonya of Jenks, Okla.; two daughters, Ellen Raimondi and her husband Tony of Lake Forrest, Ill., and Beth Longo and her husband Jim Bentivegna of Harrington Park, N.J.; three grandchildren, Anthony and Benjamin Raimondi and Elizabeth Bentivegna; a brother Joseph Longo of New York state; and two sisters, Marie Longo of New York City, and Claire Farneti of Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Wilma Jean (Hostetter) Longo, and two sisters.
Funeral service will be at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home, Worthington at noon Wednesday with the Rev. Mel Camp officiating. Burial will be in Worthington Cemetery.
Friends may call after 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
