Doris Louise "Dody" Neal, 73, of Jasonville, passed away at 7:15 p.m. Monday, Dec. 20, 2004 at Greene County General Hospital in Linton.
Born Oct. 27, 1931 in Clay County, she was the daughter of Ruel Michael "Mike" and Millie M. (McDonald) Neal.
She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church of Jasonville, Wednesday Research Club, Clay County Genealogical Society, Indiana Historical Society, Indiana Governor's Planning Council for Persons with Disabilities, and a charter member of Jasonville Spirit Builders. In 1971, she received the Governor's Award for the Handicapped Hoosier of the Year.
Survivors include: a brother and sister-in-law Alan "Bud" and Emma Jean Neal of Terre Haute; a niece Ann C. Peterson and her husband Eric of Tucson, Ariz.; a nephew Bradford Alan Neal and his wife Paula of Lancaster, Calif.; five great-nieces; one great-nephew; and her caregiver of over 40 years Karen Ann Conley of Jasonville.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at McClanahan-Lee Funeral Home, Jasonville, with Father Eugene Schmitt officiating. Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery, Midland.
Friends may call today from 4-8 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
