BEDFORD ---- George Eagans, 70, of Bedford, passed away at 5:47 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004 at Bedford Regional Medical Center.
Born on Nov. 17, 1934 in Lawrence County, he was the son of Woodrow and Lelah (Swartz) Eagan. He married Edna Pemberton on June 29, 1957. She passed away on Sept. 11, 2001.
He was a contractor all of his life in Lawrence County, and was a member of Mitchell American Legion Post 250 and Bedford Masonic Lodge 14 F&AM and Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis.
Survivors include: one son Brian Eagans and his wife Lisa of Bedford; two grandsons, Dillon and Brant Eagans, both of Bedford; his companion Zella Rose of Bedford; two sisters, Viola Cummings and Helen Couch, both of Bedford; one brother Gerald Eagan of Bedford; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Edna Eagans, and one sister Phyllis Eagan.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary, Bedford, with Pastor Steve Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. today at the Day & Carter Mortuary, Bedford. There will be a Masonic service at 7 p.m. by members of Bedford Masonic Lodge 14 F&AM.
