Ida E. Wright, 77, of Bloomfield, passed away at 12:40 p.m. Tuesday, December 28, 2004, at her residence.
Born May 3, 1927 in Martin County, she was the daughter of Hazel J. Blackmore. She had been married to Richard Floyd (Dick) Wright who passed away in 1992.
She was a telephone operator for Indiana Bell and also worked for White's Heating and Cooling in Bloomfield. She was a Life Member of American Legion Auxiliary 196 Bloomfield, a Lifetime Member of the Scotland Historical Society, Genealogy Society of Greene County and Clay County, Women's Republican Club, Charter Member of the Landmarks Foundation, Clerk Treasurer of Bloomfield for 17 years, a graduate of Bloomfield High School in 1945 and attended Indiana University. She was baptized in Scotland Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include: one son Odell O. Wright III of Bloomfield; one daughter Connie Shonk of Greenwood; one brother William Crays of Bloomfield; three sisters, Patty Wiles of Indianapolis, Willadeen Milburn of Huntsville, Ala., and Peggy Cunningham of Plainfield; five granddaughters, Christa Curtis of Elkhart, Brooke Pyne of Bloomfield, Lindsay Skinner of Bloomfield, Jennifer Shonk of Valparaiso, Fla., and Melissa Shonk of Indianapolis; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother; her husband Richard Floyd (Dick) Wright; two sons, Richard Floyd Wright, Jr. and Caryl Tennyson Wright; and one brother Richard Crays.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home, Bloomfield, with Rev. Billy Ed Hostettler officiating. Christa Curtis will do the Eulogy. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday and two hours prior to services on Friday at the funeral home.
