Roy A. Boyles, 84, of Linton, passed away Thursday afternoon, Oct. 28, 2004 at his daughter's residence in Conehatta, Miss.
Born May 19, 1920 in Hayworth, Ill., he was the son of William and Cora (Jewell) Boyles.
He was a 1940 graduate of Linton-Stockton High School. He retired as a MSgt in the United States Air Force and as a Federal Civil Servant. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II, a member of American Legion Post 22 of Linton and a past member of the Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include: a daughter Peggy and her husband Tom Edwards of Conehatta, Miss.; a son Dennis and his wife Vicky Boyles of Tucson, Ariz.; six grandchildren, Ryan, Scott and Kevin Nydam, Amy Martinez, and Adam and Andrew Boyles; eight great-grandchildren, Christopher Hadley, Amy, Nicholas, Marley, Andrew, and Audrey Nydam, Brandon Nessmith, and Damon Martinez.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; his first wife Norma Jean (Lucas) Boyles; his second wife Jessie (Brand) Boyles; eight brothers, Denver, John, Ernest, Glenn, Arnold, Burl, Floyd, and Orville Boyles; and two sisters, Florence Clemmons and Irene Harsha.
Funeral service will be at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home Linton Chapel at 2 p.m. on Tuesday. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton where military graveside rites will be conducted.
Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from noon until the time of service.
The family has requested that memorial donations be made to the American Association of Kidney Patients through the funeral home.
