Clifford Earl Jones, 72, of Linton, passed away at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2004 at Regional Hospital, Terre Haute.
Born June 16, 1932 in Terre Haute, he was the son of Charles and Bessie Marie (Yarnell) Jones. He married Dorothy J. (Franklin) Jones on Sept. 25, 1955 in Bloomfield.
He was a Marine Corp. veteran of the Korean War. He was a engineering technician at Crane Naval Weapons Support Center, retiring in 1987. He owned and operated Jones's Trophy Center in Linton. He was a member of Linton BPOE Elks 866, Past Exalted Ruler, Past Master Masonic Lodge 560 F&AM Linton, American Legion Post 22, VFW Post 7118.
Survivors include: his wife Dorothy J. Jones of Linton; two daughters, Susan Marie Sewell of Washington and Jean Ann Kirk of Jasonville; four grandchildren, Amy Lynn Sewell, Jordyn Nicole Sewell, Sarah Marie Kirk and Valory Jean Kirk; and one sister, Susie Bogard of Linton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Friday at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel, Linton with the Rev. David Hoskins officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, and 9 a.m. until the hour of service Friday at the funeral home. There will be an Elks Memorial Service 7 p.m. on Thursday.
