Dona M. Gibbs, 81, of Sullivan, passed away at 4:53 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 8, 2004 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute.
Born Oct. 10, 1923 in Douglas, Okla., she was the daughter of John "Ezra" and Ethel (Dubbs) Cutter. She had been married to Harold E. Gibbs, who passed away in 1990.
She was retired from the Sullivan State Bank. She was a member of Sullivan First Christian Church, where she was a member of the Missionary Unit 6, past member of the Church Choir, past president of the Women's Church Council and Sunday School teacher at the Christian Church in Indianapolis.
Survivors include: two daughters, Aleta Eldridge of Sullivan, and Alana and her husband Ronald McKinney of Lake in the Hills, Ill.; three grandchildren, Jason and his wife Tricia McKinney of Glendale Hts., Ill., Nathan McKinney of Chicago, Ill., and Sara McKinney of Lake in the Hills, Ill.; two nephews, Evertt Ray and his wife Judy Cutter of Douglas, Okla., and Larry Russell of Washington, D.C.; and one niece Mary Beth and her husband Carroll Moore of Bennington, Vt.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harold E. Gibbs, her in-laws Otto and Pearl Gibbs, one brother, and four sisters.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Sullivan First Christian Church with the Rev. Dale Wise and the Rev. Felix Mathew officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery in Carlisle.
Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. on Friday at Alexander-Kean Funeral Home, Sullivan and from noon until the time of service Saturday at the church.
