WEST AMBOY, N.Y. ---- Virginia A. Stanton, 81, of West Amboy, N.Y., passed away on Saturday morning, Nov. 6, 2004 at St. Camillus Health Center after a long illness.
She was born in Sandborn. She was married to Rowland W. Stanton on Oct. 17, 1944 in Oneida, N.Y.
She was a graduate of Oaktown High School in Oaktown. She was a member of Parish Presbyterian Church and a member of Puritan Chapter 165 OES, Parish N.Y. She was a secretary at A.P.W. High School, retiring in 1979.
Survivors include: her husband of 60 years Rowland W. Stanton; one son Cregg and his wife Jeanne Stanton of Altmar, N.Y.; two daughters, Cynthia Stanton of Liverpool and Nancy Wright of West Amboy, N.Y.; three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marjorie and her husband Lyman Stevens of Waterford, Mich., and Delores Hollingsworth of Indianapolis; six brothers, Wayne and his wife Alice Anderson of Sandborn, Wendell and his wife Delores Anderson of Westphalia, Bryce Abe and his wife Barbara Anderson of Edwardsport, John and his wife Peggy Anderson of Lubbock, Texas, Curtis and his wife Maye Anderson of Sandborn, and David and his wife Heidi Anderson of Linton.
She was preceded in death by a brother Sherman L. Anderson in 2003.
Funeral service was today at 10 a.m. at Harter Funeral Home in Parish, N.Y. Burial was in West Amboy Cemetery.
Visitation was Tuesday at the funeral home.
