Darrell E. Doane, 70, of Loogootee, passed away at 8:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 26, 2004 at his residence.
Born July 9, 1934 in Orrville in Knox County, he was the son of James W. and Opal (Laukford) Doane. He was married to Mary Kathryn (Roberson) Doane.
He was a Navy veteran, serving from 1954-74. He was a retired material handler at Crane NWSC Civil Service. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve and the Baptist Church in Loogootee.
Survivors include: his wife Mary Kathryn (Roberson) Doane of Loogootee; one son Walter Doane of Panama; three step-daughters; three brothers, Paul Doane of Vincennes, Charles Doane of Parma, Ohio, and Carl Doane of Bloomfield; three sisters, Mary Jane Quiller of Odon, Mona Doane of Bloomfield, and Viola York of Bedford; and several nieces and nephews and step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, three brothers, and one step-son.
There will be no funeral service or calling hours. A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
