Carl E. Delph, 73, of Dugger, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2004 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.
Born March 12, 1931 in Sullivan County, he was the son of Andrew and Vina (Turley) Delph.
He was the owner of Delph Used Cars for 22 years, worked at Amax Coal Co. and retired from Peabody Coal Co. He was a member of the Dugger Masonic Lodge, a member of the First Christian Church and attended Faith Community Church.
Survivors include: his wife Mary Jo Walters Delph of Dugger; three daughters, Shirley and her husband Mike Reynolds, Jerrie Lynn and her husband Luke Sliger, and Cammy and her husband Bob Misner, all of Dugger; seven grandchildren, Chad and his wife Natalie Reynolds, Brandi and her husband Bill Pope, Clay and his wife Amy Reynolds, Carly and her husband Josh LeDune, Caleb Cliver and fianc/ Landi Bedwell, Luke Misner and Neely Misner; eight great-grandchildren, Tanner and Kolbi Reynolds, Bryer and Bryce Pope, Zachery, Dalton and Sadie Reynolds, and Tyra Sliger; and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Madge Delph, Phyllis Delph, and Joan Delph; and other in-laws, Herman and Flo Walters, Thelma and Lloyd Turpen, Bob and Ann Walters, Gert Land, Karen and Johnny Ballard, Rick and Phyllis Walters, and Mildred Walters.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Andy, Ossie, Jerry and Gilbert Delph, and one sister Clara Delph.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Sunday at Newkirk's Funeral Home in Dugger with the Rev. John Booker officiating. Burial will be in the Dugger Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Saturday, and before the service Sunday at the funeral home.
